For the longest time I've been struggling to find an art style that's comfortable for me to build a foundation from. I've always figured that given time and experience it would naturally come but frustratingly it has yet to arrive. In some ways I think it doesn't help that I tend to be awed by and absorb so many different styles and techniques that I can never really figure out what I personally want. This seems unique to just art since I never have problems deciding on an ice cream flavor (nom nom) or something else.

It's one thing to say, "just do what comes naturally" but what if nothing seems to come naturally in the first place?


So what about you guys? Has any of you struggled over a style or technique and found a way to make it easier to figure out what you want?
